5 Ways to Play Spotify Music on Nintendo Switch

Will there be a Spotify App for The Nintendo Switch?

In April 2017, just a month after the release of the Nintendo Switch, fans reached out to Spotify to propose the development of a compatible app for Nintendo Switch. However, in 2019, Spotify closed the case without any further action, stating

"Hey folks, Spotify staff here.
We’re always working on improving the Spotify experience across platforms, but we don’t have any further information to share at the moment.
It should also be noted that we typically don't announce integrations with third parties in advance.
Thanks for continuing to share your ideas."

In the following years, there still hasn't been any indication that an app is imminent. While there have been recent reports of an update to support Bluetooth audio on the Switch, news of a Spotify app remains absent. Then on 2023-03-30, Spotify changed the post status to Not Right Now, stating

Hey everyone,
Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.
We've discussed this idea and while it is interesting, we aren't able to prioritize it (don't have any immediate plans to implement this).
If we do have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Nintendo Switch users who want to listen to Spotify songs while playing game may feel disappointed. So is there anything we can do to listen to Spotify through the Switch? Option 1 Send Spotify music to your headphones

Plug one cord into your switch and one into your phone and go to town.

Option 4 Install Android OS on your Nintendo Switch

The ingenious modders at XDA Developers have managed to install Android OS onto the Nintendo Switch. This then provides access to all the apps you can normally use on Android, such as Netflix, Spotify, etc. It's going to take several steps for you to get Android working on your Switch, and it isn't for total novices. Option 5 Play Spotify on Nintendo Switch through TriPlayer

2. Select Spotify music
