How to import Apple Music songs to GarageBand?


"I want to record a cover version of a song I downloaded via Apple Music, but can't find the sound file I need in GarageBand, even after I moved the file into the 'iTunes Media > Music' folder. Can someone please help me with this?" - user asked on Apple Communities.

You can import music and audio files into GarageBand on both Mac and iOS. Part 2 Import the DRM-free Apple Music songs to GarageBand

Now you have the Apple Music songs in DRM-free format, you can import them to GarageBand just like other songs.

With your song open in GarageBand, do the following to import music.

1) Click the Media Browser button on the top right of the GarageBand window.

2) When the browser opens, choose either Audio or Movies at the top.

3) Expand the category you need, select a file, and drag it into your song.
